One of the key elements for successful deployments in the non-IT domain is to have a strategy that does not require an overnight change in the mindset or existing processes. The reason why many implementations have failed in the Hospital industry is because the reluctance of the key stake-holders – the doctors – to use technology that they were not familiar with, was not adequately addressed or even considered.

Our strategy is to ensure that every solution that is deployed in the hospitals has a gradual adoption process, with Yos providing services in each phase as required. The services include registration / enrollment of patients, scan and upload of the records (inpatient and outpatient) as well as digitization of patient records. Thus there is no dependency on the medical professionals to key in information into the software, if they are not comfortable doing so. They can merely view the information online and continue to write on prescription pads, which will be digitized periodically by Yos personnel. Once they have got used to the process they can transform into a completely paperless practice and type in prescriptions.
